This fabulous tour to rarely-visited sites in the south of Thailand will look for a number of speciality birds otherwise only found in Malaysia as well as the near-mythical and critically-endangered Gurney’s Pitta. You will be based for nine nights in luxury detached villas with two air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms, lounge with satellite TV, kitchen/diner with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and private swimming pool. Villas also available for sole use by couples for a supplement. Daily excursions will vary between early starts and early returns to late starts and early returns so you will have ample opportunity to enjoy your private swimming pool!

Thailand is both ornithologically and culturally rewarding. It combines many sought after Palearctic winter migrants with a large number of spectacular resident species, and also combines traditional oriental customs and friendliness with western comforts. This tour will thoroughly cover three of the best National Parks in the country, together with other sites, in search of specialities.

Chiang Dao Nest can arrange for a 4 Wheel Drive to collect you at around 6.00am to drive you for around 2 hours up a terrible dirt track one of Thailand's most special birding spots,Den Ya Khat or DYK as it is known. Sunrise is the best time to see specialities such as the Giant Nuthatch and Mrs. Hume's Pheasant. Return time is your choice, but we recommend leaving around 2.30pm as the birds are usually quiet after this time. It also gives you a chance to get back down to Wat Tham Pha Phlong for pre-sunset birding.
